ITV Productions
“FORGER’S MASTERCLASS”

ITV Productions is making a brand new series for SKY ARTS which will give aspiring artists the rare opportunity to learn to paint in the style of a world renowned artist.

We’re looking for artists of all descriptions, professional or amateur in all mediums to take part, to create a mixture of Painters, Illustrators, Cartoonists, Muralists, Graffiti Artists, Animators, Silk Screen Printers and more!

Their teacher is the notorious forger John Myatt who foiled the international art world with his fake masterpieces. Scotland Yard called it “The biggest art fraud of the 20th century” and after a spell in Brixton Prison, John now makes a living painting ‘genuine fakes’ legitimately for art lovers.

In each episode of “FORGER’S MASTERCLASS” John will teach three artists from different backgrounds the techniques and skills to create their own “masterpiece”. Each programme will focus on the work of a different master, understanding their life and mindset and how this influenced their individual style and learning the weird and wonderful techniques John used to fool the experts time after time.

Could the world’s most renowned forger teach you to pull off a convincing Constable, Monet or Van Gogh?

We are filming between the 13th and the 28th of August to be broadcast in October this year.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an artist to show their work and take on the challenge of creating a masterpiece in the style of a renowned artist.

If you are interested in taking part or would like more information on the show, please contact us on 0207 827 7448 or email sarah.richards@itv.com
