Pet Portrait Diploma Course Student Gallery - artwork from section one of the course.

Here are just a few of the wonderful pieces of artwork that have been produced on the course so far.
The pet portraits course starts off with some basic tuition in the fundamentals of drawing. This section is very important as it refreshes or teaches the student in the basic drawing skills needed to draw and paint any subject. We talk about light and shade, practice tonal ranges, and touch a little on composition by drawing a few objects around the house. This enables the student to iron out any problems before they move on to drawing fur and feathers! This section is extremely important. In my professional experience students progress far quicker after practising a few inanimate objects first, especially those who are very new to drawing and painting. "Thank you for your comments on my drawings, from exercise 1. I knew there was something wrong with the breakfast things, as soon as i read your comments i could see what you meant. Isn't it strange how you can look at something so long you just don't see it! Again the uphill water in the jar i didn't see that either. It was interesting to hear your comments about the pepper as i thought i may have gone too dark. Thanks once again for all your comments – very useful."
