His early career in London involved working in Publishing and a freelance illustrator for Newspapers such as the Sunday Times focusing on courtroom sketches and dramatic reconstruction.
Whilst making a living as a creative director for a succession of Blue Chip international design he continued illustration and had to date published six children’s books.
He was awarded the D&AD Silver medal in 1983 for design work for a set of illustrated Post office stamps.
Drawing is at the core of all Alexanders achievements in cartooning, illustrating and design and as an avid science fiction enthusiast he is equally at home using traditional art techniques with the latest technology on his Macintosh computer using software like Photoshop, Illustrator and Freehand.
