Julie Douglas

Julie is a professional artist and runs her own business teaching drawing and painting all over Ireland, from beginners to degree level. She has taught for nearly 20 years, and loves watching how students learn. For two years recently she taught drawing and Graphic Design at Limerick School of Art. Julie is a member of the UK Colour Pencil Society as well as the CPSA, and has won awards in Seattle and Atlanta as part of the CPSA exhibitions.
Julie trained in graphic design and illustration in Liverpool Poly and Norwich School of Art, and worked as a freelance illustrator for 10 years, with clients ranging from Tesco to Pilkington Glass, Mitchell Beazley, American Express and Paul McCartney. She then began to side-step into teaching. She then began to side-step into teaching and, as all her students will say, she simply loves it.
Julie's main interest is drawing, for observation and as a basis for painting and design. She enjoys working in most mediums and enjoys teaching in all mediums. |
