Sandrine is a freelance botanical artist, painting for commissions and exhibitions.
Her interest in botanical painting started with a Botanical Illustration course at London Art College, for which she received a pass with distinction, which encouraged her to pursue her passion with painting nature.
Sandrine runs workshops in art societies, teaches residential courses at West Dean College and is a tutor for the long distance courses of the Society of Botanical Artists and London Art College. She is a member of the Society of Floral Painters and the Society of Botanical Artists and exhibits regularly with them, mainly in Hampshire and in London. She has also had exhibitions in galleries in San Francisco and Germany.
Sandrine regularly writes articles for Artists & Illustrators magazine. Her inspiration comes from nature and the ephemeral beauty of plants, with a particular interest in light and colour. Her favourite subjects are flamboyant tulips, roses, pears and all kinds of fruit followed by dead leaves when the autumn comes. |
