TERMS & CONDITIONS - LONDON ART COLLEGE (LAC)


1.   Introduction

1.1.    These terms and conditions (“Terms”) govern your relationship with London Art College (“the College”) regarding the use of our distance learning services, courses, programs, and any associated materials.

1.2.   By enrolling in any course or program offered by the College, you agree to comply with and be bound by these Terms.

2.       Enrolment and Registration 

2.1.    Eligibility: To enrol in a College course or program, you must meet the specified eligibility criteria and provide accurate and complete registration information.

2.2.    Enrolment Confirmation: Upon successful registration and payment, you will receive a confirmation of enrolment along with course details.

2.3.    Licence: When we send to you of the Enrolment Confirmation E-mail we will grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, worldwide licence to access and use the College’s. service for the duration of the access period.

3.       Tuition and Payment 

3.1.    Tuition Fees: Tuition fees are outlined in the College’s official pricing documentation / website and may vary by course or program. 

3.2.    Payment Methods: The College accepts various payment methods, as specified on our website or in our payment policies. The College does not hold any student payment card-details. We are Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) Compliant. 

3.3.    Payment Schedule: Payment can be made in full or via instalments. Orders from outside the UK (International students) paying by instalment will receive an electronic copy of the course and not a paper version. Tuition fees must be paid according to the payment schedule provided during registration. Failure to meet payment deadlines may result in course access suspension.  

3.4.    Refunds and Cancellations: Students have fourteen days from receipt of their course to return it, in good condition, for a full refund of their fees. After fourteen days the college has no legal liability for the reimbursement of fees irrespective of whether or not the student completed the course. Submission of coursework will constitute acceptance of the course and no refunds will be given.

3.5.    Re-Sale: The college prohibits the re-sale or transfer of course materials without written agreement.

4.      Course  Access and Materials 

4.1.    Supply: Course supply is deemed to be in the Untied Kingdom where VAT is paid.

4.2.    Delivery: When paper copies of courses are sent internationally; there may be delays due to customs. Students will be liable for any and all import duty or taxes charged by their country of residence on the art course documents / educational material sent even if returned.

4.3.    Access Period: Enrolled students will be granted access to course materials and resources for two years from the date of enrolment. Course extensions or re- enrolments will be given at the college’s discretion for a nominal charge. 

4.4.    Course Materials: Course materials, including lectures, assignments, and readings, are provided solely for educational purposes and remain the intellectual property of the College.

5.       Course Requirements and Progress

5.1.    Course Completion: To successfully complete a course, students must meet all academic requirements, including assignments and assessments, as outlined in the course syllabus.  

5.2.    Academic Integrity: Plagiarism, cheating, or any form of academic dishonesty is strictly prohibited and may result in disciplinary action. 

5.3.    Re-Submission: Students may incur extra fees if they choose to resubmit coursework that has been previously evaluated. 

5.4.    Awards: The college will, at its discretion, recognise the effort and achievement of the student by the award of an appropriate Letter of Completion / Certificate or Diploma.

6.        Student Support  and Communication 

6.1.    Student Support: The College will provide reasonable support to help you succeed in your studies, including access to academic advisors and technical support. The college is not liable for work submitted by post that is misplaced by the postal/delivery service. 

6.2.    Communication: The College may contact you via email, phone, or other specified communication methods for administrative, academic, or marketing purposes.

7.       Privacy Policy And Cookies 

7.1.    Cookies: Cookies are used in the shopping cart, but only to keep track of the contents of your shopping cart. 

7.2.    Data Protection: The College will handle your personal data in accordance with applicable data protection laws and its privacy policy. 

7.3.    Data Collected: The college collects just enough personal information to be able to identify students and potential students when communicating with them by their chosen method. Personal information from potential student enquires will be kept for no more than 12 months. Enrolling students’ personal information is kept in perpetuity for confirming course achievements. This can include: full name, email address, correspondence address, contact phone number. This information is used by college staff and college tutors for the purposes of providing the art courses. If you wish to have you record removed from The college records after completion of any course(s) please let us know in writing; but be aware that we will not be able to confirm any of your achievements having done so. The college will not sell, distribute or lease your personal information to third parties. 

7.4.    Artwork: The college reserves the right to use students’ artwork, which has been submitted to the college for marketing purposes, such as the college website, forum, and students’ galleries. In an effort to protect the students’ work it will be marked as copyright protected, which remain the property of the student. If you do not wish for your work to be displayed please let us know in writing and it will be removed. The college is not responsible for saving student artwork submitted indefinitely. 

7.5.    Data Security: It is your responsibility to safeguard your login credentials and personal information to protect your privacy and data.

8.       Changes and Termination 

8.1.    Course Changes: The College reserves the right to modify course content, schedules, and tutors as necessary.  

8.2.    Termination: The College may terminate your enrolment for violations of these Terms, academic misconduct, abusive behaviour or other valid reasons. In these cases, any payment made to us by you will not be refunded.  

9.       Dispute Resolution

9.1.   Loss or damage: The college is not liable for any loss or damage that cannot be anticipated or is outside of the college’s control. 

9.2.   Complaints - If you have a complaint; please let us know in writing and we will try to rectify it. 

9.3.   Appeals: Any appeal will be reviewed by a member of the college’s management team; the outcome of which will be final. 

9.4.   Disputes: Any disputes arising from these Terms will be resolved through negotiation or mediation. If the dispute is not handled to your satisfaction it can be submitted to the Association of Distance Learning Colleges for non-binding arbitration. 

9.5.    If not resolved, disputes may be subject to legal action as permitted by law. 

10.       Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England without regard to its conflict of law principles. 

11.       Entire Agreement

These Terms constitute the entire agreement between you and the college and supersede any prior agreements or understandings.
