London Art College - Competition 2025

We are excited to reveal the winners of this year’s London Art College Annual Art Competition! Once again, our students have shown just how much creativity, imagination and technical skill is being developed across all of our courses.

After much discussion, our tutors selected two standout pieces from the entries submitted. The winner is student Esraa Kalander and the runner up is Rebecca Sullivan.

We would like to congratulate both Esraa and Rebecca for their well earned success, and thank all of our students who submitted artwork to this year’s competition. It’s always a pleasure to see the variety of work being produced across the college, from detailed realism to stylised design, from digital to traditional, and everything in between.

If you are feeling inspired, why not set yourself a challenge to work on a competition piece for next year?

Winner - Esraa Kalander

Runner Up - Rebecca Sullivan

"My painting of “ The Young Joker” was inspired by the original “Joker” from DC comics, with the love I have towards their characters. I portrayed the joker as a young intelligent twisted genius boy,  depicting his eyes in a distinctive way .. so that you can feel his known abilities of a criminal mastermind.  For the portrait I used a vibrant coloured palette, with details showing "Eliteness" for example his rose in his pocket and his pushed back hair in a sleek style. I also applied a dark background to make the young joker the focal point, giving him a sharp look.  The materials used is mixed media consisting of pencil, ink, acrylic and gouache on high quality cotton paper."
